Perspective In A Sunset

There isn’t anything quite like a Florida sunset with storm clouds in the sky. The radiant colors and the majestic streams of color over a 10-minute span of time blows me away. It happens often, but each time it has its own unique traits. Each time the colors vary just a bit to bring you a new layer of brilliance that truly is breathtaking. In moments like these, I am in such awe and wonder I don’t have words. I just take it all in. It stops me in my tracks and makes everything that seemed important at the moment - not. Like a deep cleansing breath of the freshest, cleanest air. It has the power to change my perspective in a moment.

Perspective.

A good definition of Godly Perspective: 1. a way of regarding situations, facts, etc., and judging their relative importance in relation to the truth of God’s word and His character.

Are there things in your life that can alter or shift your perspective that quickly?

The longer I walk with the Lord, the more He teaches me His perspective. His purpose. His way. His goodness, love, & mercy. Knowing and understanding His ways transforms me & my perspective into one that is much better than what my heart could find on its own.

Whether I am walking through a challenge or tragedy, peacefulness or anxiety, rejoicing or feeling down, or just happily skipping through my day, knowing who I am IN Christ and believing the truth of His word has the power to bring me to a place of grace, awe, and gratitude much like a Florida sunset.

Where are you with your perspective today?

Are there areas or moments in your life that could use a fresh perspective? Remember, you are IN relationship with Christ. He will give you all the perspective you need.

In Psalm 23, David the psalmist writes about how he experiences and knows God. His character, how He provides and leads, and then how the psalmist desires to be in His presence. This was part of the psalmist's perspective. He believes that God is who He says He is and walks in that perspective. We can do that too. Let’s do it together!

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green

pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in

paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff,

they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies,

you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall

follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 23 (ESV)
