PEACE THROUGH PRAYER

Does it ever feel fake to you to pray about something that’s on your mind and then tell the Lord you’re not going to stress about it? Other times you’ve been able to do it, and it feels more natural; you have peace, so, you’re able to let it go. Why not this time? Or maybe sometimes you feel you could trust the matter to Him, but you feel guilty or irresponsible at the idea of not stressing over it?

Me, too. This is a common struggle for me!

Philippians 4:6-7 KJV says, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

This is one of my all-time favorite reminders and promises in the Bible! When I struggle to trust an issue to God, I remember this verse (I actually have it framed on my living room wall), and it prompts me to pray, not only for help or guidance but also to thank Him for what He has done in the past! It helps anchor my hope in Him, giving me that peace He promises.

I highly recommend memorizing this one if you haven’t already! I love to listen to the song version by Scripture Lullabies (which you can find on YouTube or other music platforms) to get it into my memory or when I need encouragement!
